Potti Manyam Breed
It belongs to our East Agency species. This is our Andhra Pradesh breed. It climbs and descends in the hilly areas of East Agency of Andhra Pradesh (Bhadrachalam to Orissa - Eastern Forest Region). It is draft breed in Devarakonda race.
Boni Breed:
It is a Boni cow from the state of Bengal. Grows to about three feet tall and yields up to two liters of milk. They are found in West Bengal and Calcutta.
Minnie Mouse Breed:
This breed of cow is found in our India Bangladesh border. They are short in height and short in length. Their teeth are visible outside.
Vechur Breed
Vechur cow, an indigenous cattle variety of Kerala, a rare breed of Bos indicus, is the smallest cattle breed in the Kerala. It yields the maximum milk in the world for a cow of this size. It's not the quantity of the milk but its quality that gave it an international fame.
Malnad Gidda
Malnad Gidda or Malenadu Gidda is a dwarf breed of cattle native to the hilly, rainy and densely forested Malenadu region of the Western Ghats in the state of Karnataka in India. It is also known as Uradana and Varshagandhi. They are of short stature and known for their adaptability, disease resistance. The milk and urine is of medicinal value. The cattle can also be sustained solely on grazing the forests and rural terrains. They are found to be of Black to brown complexions and are very active in temperament and are highly intelligent, also able to jump 5 feet fence. The breed which was once a non descript variety has now been declared officially as a distinct breed by the authorities. this cow commonly visible mainly in Shimoga, Chikkamangalore, Mangalore, hassan districts. Average of 90 cm height at the withers and requires minimum fodder for survival. Milk yield is upto 3-4 ltrs per day. 2 ltrs on an average.
